Bryan L. Thomas Sr.

Bryan L. Thomas a.k.a. “Rat” was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on February 19, 1965, and was a resident of Toledo, Ohio since 1996. He was the son of Rev. Benjamin Thomas, Pastor, and Co-Pastor Rev. Doris J. Thomas, of the Solomon Temple Missionary Baptist Church. Bryan transcended this life on June 16, 2025, at the age of 60 from Ayden Healthcare of Toledo. Before his health failed Bryan “Rat” enjoyed working as a landscaper. Bryan “Rat”, you will truly be missed for craving those pinto beans and rice and Kentucky Fried Chicken, from your dad and your neighbor Ms. Shirley and the coffee you had early in the morning, other friends and family that you entrusted them to cook chicken for you, saying, “Make sure you boil it first, my teeth are bad.” Your sisters and nephews in Toledo, Ohio were always there, ready to support you in your darkest hour when they had knowledge of your whereabouts. He would find his way to one of their homes when he got sick, when he couldn’t reach his dad or mom to get him to the hospital. His street message to the younger generation of men he was acquainted with was, “Look at me, don’t do as I do, you do better than me.” When they found him sick or needed help, they would get the information to one of his family members they knew or his dad. He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae Thomas, two brothers, Turner Ray and Blaine Thomas, Sr. and niece Dawnte Thomas. He leaves to mourn his passing, father Rev. Benjamin, Pastor (Rev. Doris) Thomas of Toledo, Ohio; children, B.J. Thomas of Cincinnati, Ohio, BryAnn Thomas of Toledo, Ohio and Bobby Thomas of Las Vegas; brothers, Rev. Benny, Pastor (Pamela) Thomas of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Frank (Dr. Deanca) Gray, Nathan Gray; sisters, Jeannette Polk of Millen Georgia, Linda Lee, Lawanda Tyree, and Fannie Gray of Toledo, Ohio, grandchildren, Bry-Ah Thomas, BreYon Payne and Dahmillyan Bennett, and host of special nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. A Special thank you to friends, Ms. Carmen Ford, and Mrs. Kimberly Thompson for their special spiritual care support for Bryan “Rat.” Ayden Health Care of Toledo, Ohio their Priest and health care team and Hospice of NW Ohio. A voice we loved is stilled, a place is vacant in our home which never can be filled. And after a lonely heartache, and many a silent tear, but always a beautiful memory of one we love so dear. May you rest in peace and we will see you later.
