Tamra Dena (Ross) Zarrieff Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Tamra D. Zarrieff, 45, received her wings on July 3, 2022, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. She was at home, surrounded by her family, and made a peaceful transition. Tamra was born April 2, 1977, at Roseland Community Hospital in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Alice (Renee) Ross and Larry Southern. Tamra graduated from Lindblom High School, Class of 1995. Following graduation, she attended Tuskegee University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Upon graduation, she married her college sweetheart and temporarily settled in Boise, ID, then back home to Chicago before finally settling in Holland, OH. The college sweethearts would have celebrated their 22nd year of marriage in August 2022. Tamra was a loyal member of the Junior League of Boise, ID, as well as the Junior League of Chicago, where she shared her love for volunteering, developing the potential of women, and improving communities. Tamra selflessly delayed her professional career and served as a homemaker for her husband and their four children. She was also a licensed nail technician, a regular volunteer at her children's schools and had recently obtained her real estate license and was engaged in her first commercial transaction at the time of her illness. She was a social butterfly who loved travelling, shopping, eating, and dancing. She also found balance as a soccer mom, where she supported and cheered her children on. In addition, Tamra happily served on the greeter's board at her local place of worship (Win the World Ministries) up until the time of her illness. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandparents LeFlora Ross, Suffragan Bishop Cornelius Southern, Gussie L. Southern, and beloved aunt Dorothy J. Brown. In addition to her husband, Ryan D. Zarrieff, remaining to cherish Tamra's memory are her four children, Ryann Tayjah-Lee Zarrieff, Amaar Farrad Zarrieff, Frankee Airynn Zarrieff, and Nicco Ocier Zarrieff all of Holland, OH; four brothers, Laurence Antonio Weed, Reginald Rayson, Damont Clegg, and Larry O'Niel Southern Jr.; one sister Larsie Ann Southern, special uncle Maurice Southern, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and countless friends. A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. (Family Hour from 10-11) on July 16, 2022, at Grace Apostolic Church 8233 S. Exchange Chicago, IL 60617. Interment will be at Homewood Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 600 Ridge Rd. Homewood, IL 60430. A memorial service will follow on at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Win the World Ministries, 3011 Marvin Ave., Toledo, OH, 43606.
