Thomas Charles "Skinny" Moore Sr.

Thomas Charles “Skinny” Moore, Sr. was born August 2, 1955, the ninth and youngest child born to Wyndlon McClellan and Thomas “TC” Terry in Toledo, OH. He was affectionately known as “Skinny” to all those who knew and loved him, his parents, siblings, extended family, and friends. Skinny maintained a close relationship with his parents, children, and siblings throughout his life. The Lord called Skinny home on Monday, April 17, 2023. Our angel now has his wings and will continue to watch over us all. Skinny received his formal education in Toledo. He attended Glenwood Elementary School. Afterward, he enrolled in Job Corps, where he received his GED. After receiving his GED, he enlisted in the US Navy. Skinny entered the Navy on September 9, 1972, where he was an ordnance mechanic. Skinny’s time in the Navy was busy because he was sent to fight overseas in the Vietnam War. Skinny enjoyed being in the Navy because it allowed him to travel and meet new people. After leaving the Navy, Skinny became a skilled plumber under the tutelage of his father, TC Terry. Skinny was a free spirit! He loved and appreciated all of God’s creatures; animals of the air, insects on the ground, whether it crawled or swam. He tried to play with it and wanted it for a pet. Skinny also enjoyed cooking, dressing nicely, dancing, and spending time with his children and family. If there was a family function, you could count on Skinny to be the sharpest person in the room. Skinny had a great love for his family. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a kind, thoughtful and generous person. Skinny was preceded in death by his parents, Wyndlon McClellan and Thomas Columbus “TC” Terry, his siblings: Benny L (Rita) Moore, Shirley Moore, Charles B. Williams, and Brenda Moore. He is survived by his children Tawiah Goberman, Catherina Moore, Thomas Moore, Latricia Moore, Brittany Moore, Amanda Moore, Donald Moore, and his sisters Sarah L Wilson, Gwen (Garvin) Moore-Keller, Carol Williams-Blanchard, Donna (Thomas, deceased) Moore-James. Skinny is also survived by his grandchildren Aiden Moore, Levi France & Bra'elynn France, and numerous grandchildren by daughter Catherine Moore. Skinny is survived by many friends and loved ones. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed.
