Elder Ransey

Elder Marie E. Ransey, a valiant soldier, marched into “Glory” on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, surrounded by her devoted husband and children, family and friends. She was born to the union of George and Mary Belle Thompson on January 4, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio. She was a graduate of Scott High School and retired as an LPN in 1967. She married the love of her life, Deacon Quitman Ransey and they worked the vineyards together for 58 years. Elder Marie became an active member of the Church of the Living God (CLG) holding various roles from Sunday School Teacher to Missionary President. In 1977 she accepted her calling into the ministry. She graduated in 1987 from the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. She helped in the revision of the Church of the Living God’s National Church Discipline. She was active with the National Foreign Field and Home Missionary Departments receiving various awards from the Church of the Living God. Her favorite mantra, “When I think of the goodness of Jesus, an all he has done for me. My soul cries out Hallelujah, I thank God for saving me!” Elder Marie a faithful wife, loving mother, an excellent cook loved her family and the Word of God. “Tell it over and over again!” was her message and she lived what preached. Elder Marie was preceded in death by both parents, and sisters Georgetta Thompson and Berneda Judge. Elder Marie leaves to cherish her memories her loving and dedicated husband Deacon Quitman Ransey, her sons George (Mary Anne), Quitman Theron and Phillip (Sandra) Ransey; daughters, Linda Ransey and Judith (Ricardo) Jones; sisters, Mable Eubanks of Eaton, PA., Louise (Charles) Lockett of Taylor MI., Berdell (Harold) Huntley and Odessa Dodd of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, Damon Ransey of Macon, GA and Dorian (Lori) Ransey, a great-granchild, and a host of nieces and nephews, saints and friends. Special thanks to the Hospice Care Center of Northwest Ohio. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-7p.m., Dale-Riggs Funeral Home Chapel, wake service Wednesday 10a.m. followed by funeral service 11a.m., Mt.
