Kandice is the chairman for Uplift Our Local Community for the Zeta Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Her committee recognized literacy as an area of concern in the community and built a little lending library. It's currently located at the Wayman Palmer YMCA as there's not a public library in the area.
