Sunden Brown

Sister Sunden Brown was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 25, 1971. She departed this life after a lengthy illness on May 5, 2020. She accepted Christ at an early age at St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church under the leadership of Rev. George W. Maize III. She later united with the Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church in 1988 under the leadership of Rev. John W. Williams. Early on, in her Christian walk she enjoyed singing in the choir and earned the nickname “The Songbird”. Sunden attended Robert S. Rogers High School and was later certified as a STNA. She had a passion for caring for those that were physically or mentally disabled and the elderly and was employed at several extended care facilities. She was last employed as a Home Health Aide at Fawn Crest until her health failed. She had a smile that would light up a room and shall always be remembered for her ability to make everyone laugh. Sunden was preceded in death by her stepfather, Deacon Howard Quinn. Her memory shall be cherished by her parents: Rodney & Doris Brown & Joyce Quinn; six sisters: Victoria Mitchell, Carmen Mitchell, Lisa (William) Edmondson, Grace (Darrell) Daniels, Chris Brunner & Reteper (Will) Lane; two brothers: Rodney (Kara) Brown, Jr. & Aaron Embery; extended family: Danita Boyd, Howard (Rachel) Quinn, Candace (Charles) Martin – All of Toledo, OH; Cheryl Hudson & Desiree Quinn – Detroit, MI; and Melvin Eric Boyd – Columbus, OH; Godmother: Joan Price; special friend: Douglas Washington; a host of other relatives, Church family, friends & her loving pet “Tweet”. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 11 a.m., preceded by the Wake Hour at 10 a.m. All services will take place at the Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church, 2102 Mulberry Street, Toledo, OH. Dr. John W. Williams, Pastor – Officiating. Interment Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
