Ray Charles McClain Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ray Charles McClain, age 56 was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 3, 2022. Ray was born on June 18, 1965, to Lee Earl McClain and Mattie Mae (Roberts) McClain. Ray accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at The Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorage of his late uncle Rev. Dr. John E. Roberts. Ray attended, Sunday School, played softball, basketball for the church league and a member of the Junior Church (Choir), Youth Group and Pastors Chorus. He also enjoyed the annual Vacation Bible School and church picnic. Ray graduated from Roy C. Start High School in June of 1983. He also received a Certificate of Future Agriculture. His favorite college football team was The University of Michigan. (Go Blue) and the NFL Pittsburg Steelers. He loved listening to all types of music. Ray’s favorite saying: “6 in the morning…” and “It is what it is and that’s the way it is”. He loved his neighbor's dog Ms. Abigail. Ray held multiple jobs until he became disabled. He worked for Clean Care, Toledo Building Service, JC Penney’s, Private Security Services and Clean Sweep. Ray was preceded in death by both parents, grandparents, brother Lonnell McClain, and sister Brenda McClain. Surviving are brothers, Jerry, Donald (Loretta) and Lee McClain, sisters Barbara (Orvil) Jones-Robinson, Lena and Grace McClain, aunt’s First Lady Bernice Roberts and Sis. Lou Alice McClain, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
