Mrs. Mary June Smith was born July 18, 1919 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to the union of Simon and Somela Williams. She was called home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 21, 2010. She was the youngest of nine children.
 
She later met her husband, Floyd Smith Sr., they were married January 7, 1933 in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Floyd and Mary Smith came to Toledo, Ohio in 1947. To this union five children were born.
 
Mary was employed at Maumee Valley Hospital for several years, and also Lorain Hotel. Her main focus was a homemaker and wife. Mary joined Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in 1954 under the leadership of Reverend J. A. Dotson. She continued to be a member of Calvary until her death. She was an active member of the Mother’s Board. She was most proud of raising her children and grandchildren for many years.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Floyd Smith Sr.; eldest son, M. C. Smith; and eight siblings.
 
Mrs. Mary June Smith leaves to cherish her memories her four children, Reverend Floyd Smith Jr. (Reverend Diane Smith), Reverend Mary Jo Brazzel (Reverend Larry Brazzel Sr.), Mrs. Frances Ester (Charles M. Ester), and Mr. Earl Smith Sr. (Daphne Ramey-Friend); ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives; special grandson, Richard Kynard; and a loving church family.
Visitation 5-8:00 pm Friday @ Dale-Riggs Funeral Home, Wake 11:00 am Funeral 12:00 pm Saturday @ Calvary Baptist Church, Interment Monday 11:00 am @ Forest Cemetery

#4 maria smith 2011-11-15 05:12 Mary Smith was my grandmother.She was a great woman, a great cook, a nuturing mother and a strict disciplinary.At the end of the day you appreciated her and respected her for all sides of her personality she was truly one of a kind.
My father was her youngest child the baby of the entire family so we got all the love she had to give miss you grandmama!
