Sallye Orr, 80, was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 12th, 2010. She was born on September 2, 1929 in Greenwood Mississippi to the late Edd and Maggie Bibb. Sallye was born again and accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was an active and faithful member of Warren AME Church for over 37 years, where she served on the Steward Board, Stewardess Board No 3, Charter Member and Chairman for the Scholarship Committee, where she was known as "The Scholarship Lady" because of her passion for the committee, and the Christian Education Board. Sallye was employed with Toledo Head Start and Champion Spark Plug. She retired from Toledo Head Start in 1997. She enjoyed her work and continued to be of service to others until her death. Sallye was also active at the Southwest YMCA Senior Water Aerobics for over ten years. She was united in holy matrimony to Frank Orr. To this union two sons were born, Michael A. and Ronald S. Orr. Sallye was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Orr and brothers, Luther C. Bibbs, Author Ray Bibbs, Irvin Bibb (Everlena), Early Bibbs and Dan Bibbs. She is survived by sons, Michael A. Orr, Allen Texas, Ronald Orr, Cincinnati Ohio; grandson, Robert Justin Orr, Cincinnati Ohio; granddaughter, Kristina Underwood, Toledo; great-granddaughter, Aisha Underwood; sisters, Dorothy Trotter of Toledo and Jessie Russell of Toledo; brothers, Arnold (Almeria) Bibbs, Chicago, Jerry Bibbs, Toledo; sister-in-laws, Willa May Bibbs, Anita Bibbs, and Nina Bibbs; goddaughter, Willie (Frank) Aldridge; special friends, Rosa Day, Toledo and Polly Harris of Hampton, Virginia, and many loving, caring nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Dale-Riggs Funeral Home Thursday. Wake service at Warren A.M.E Church, 915 Collingwood Blvd. Friday at 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:00 Noon. Eulogist Reverend Dr. Otis J. Gordon. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Warren AME Scholarship Fund. Interment at the Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. www.dalefh.com
